About Sheri
Sheri Thompson has been bringing a little magic to Charleston since 2019 — one shimmering strand at a time.
As the original Fairy Hair stylist in Charleston County, she’s known for exceptional technique, long-lasting results, and the kind of warm, unhurried attention that turns a simple appointment into something genuinely memorable.
With a background as a massage therapist and yoga instructor spanning nearly two decades, Sheri has always been drawn to work at the intersection of beauty, craft, and human connection. Today, that spirit is woven into every Fairy Hair experience — from birthday celebrations to private appointments.
When you book with Sheri, you’re not just getting Fairy Hair — you’re getting someone who has spent a lifetime learning how to make people feel seen.
Beyond her work with Sparkle Charleston, Sheri is a mixed media artist, and certified death doula. She also volunteers as a hospice worker, as well as in palliative care at MUSC alongside Loui, her nationally registered bernedoodle therapy dog, offering comfort and presence to patients and families during life’s most tender moments.

Recommended:
Arrive with freshly washed (night before okay), dry, and brushed hair. This will help eliminate any strands with weak follicles that are getting ready to shed, giving you a better chance of it lasting longer.

FAIRY HAIR is safe to wash, blow dry, and color (won't change). You can even style using a flat or curling iron (up to 450 degrees) and it won't melt; it will curl or straighten, just like real hair.
TYPICALLY, Fairy Hair lasts about 2 - 6 weeks, often much longer. It stays in until the strand of hair it's tied to falls out. Part of this has to do with the shedding cycle of your hair, and part of it can be a result of how you care for your hair, and other factors. (See the HAIRCARE page.)
